Gar un kī rasā’ī hai lo jab tō ban ā’ī hai
We hear that on the Day of Judgment, only he (the Prophet) will have access.
If he has access, then look! Our matter has been resolved.
مچلا ہے کہ رحمت نے امید بندھائی ہے
کیا بات تری مجرم کیا بات بنائی ہے
Machlā hai ke raḥmat nē ummīd bandhā’ī hai
Kyā bāt tirī mujrim kyā bāt banā’ī hai
The heart is restless with joy that mercy has raised hope for us.
What a situation for you, O sinner! What a destiny has been created!
سب نے صفِ محشر میں للکار دیا ہم کو
اے بے کسوں کے آقا اب تیری دہائی ہے
Sab nē ṣaf-e-Mahshar mēñ lalkār diyā ham kō
Ay bēkasoñ kē Āqā ab terī duhā’ī hai
Everyone in the ranks of Judgment has rejected us.
O Master of the helpless! Now we plead for your help!
یوں تو سب انھیں کا ہے پر دل کی اگر پوچھو
یہ ٹوٹے ہوئے دل ہی خاص اُن کی کمائی ہے
Yūñ tō sab unhīñ kā hai par dil kī agar pūchhō
Yeh ṭūṭē hu’ē dil hī khāṣ un kī kamā’ī hai
Although everything belongs to him, if you ask about the heart—
These broken hearts alone are his special earning.
زائر گئے بھی کب کے دِن ڈھلنے پہ ہے پیارے
اٹھ میرے اکیلے چل کیا دیر لگائی ہے
Zā’ir ga’ē bhī kab kē din ḍhalnē pē hai pyārē
Uṭh mērē akēlē chal kyā dēr lagā’ī hai
The pilgrims left long ago; the day is drawing to a close, O beloved!
Get up, my lonely one, let’s go! Why this delay?
بازارِ عمل میں تو سودا نہ بنا اپنا
سرکارِ کرم تجھ میں عیبی کی سمائی ہے
Bāzār-e-’amal mēñ tō saudā na banā apnā
Sarkār-e-karam tujh mēñ ’aibī kī samā’ī hai
In the market of deeds, we failed to strike a bargain.
O source of grace! The capacity for the sinner rests in you.
گرتے ہووں کو مژدہ سجدے میں گرے مولیٰ
رو رو کے شفاعت کی تمہید اُٹھائی ہے
Girtē hu’ōñ kō muzhda sajde mēñ girē Maula
Rō rō kē shafā’at kī tamhīd uṭhā’ī hai
Glad tidings for those who are falling! The Master bowed in prostration.
Weeping and weeping, he raised the prelude to intercession.
اے دل یہ سلگنا کیا جلنا ہے تو جل بھی اُٹھ
دَم گھٹنے لگا ظالم کیا دھونی رَمائی ہے
Ay dil yeh sulagnā kyā jalnā hai tō jal bhī uṭh
Dam ghuṭnē lagā zālim kyā dhūnī ramā’ī hai
O heart, what is this slow burning? If you are to burn, then blaze up!
I’m suffocating, O cruel one! What kind of slow fire have you lit?
مجرم کو نہ شرماؤ احباب کفن ڈھک دو
منھ دیکھ کے کیا ہو گا پردے میں بھلائی ہے
Mujrim kō na sharmā’ō aḥbāb kafan ḍhak dō
Muñh dēkh kē kyā hōgā pardē mēñ bhalā’ī hai
Do not shame the sinner, O friends, cover the shroud!
What will be gained by looking at the face? Goodness lies in concealment.
اب آپ ہی سنبھالیں تو کام اپنے سنبھل جائیں
ہم نے تو کمائی سب کھیلوں میں گنوائی ہے
Ab āp hī sambhāleñ tō kām apnē sambhal jāyeñ
Ham nē tō kamā’ī sab khēlōñ mēñ gañwā’ī hai
If you manage things now, our affairs will surely be resolved.
We have wasted all our earnings in mere games.
اے عشق تِرے صدقے جلنے سے چھٹے سستے
جو آگ بجھا دے گی وہ آگ لگائی ہے
Ay ’ishq tirē ṣadqē jalnē sē chhuṭē sastē
Jō āg bujhā dē gī woh āg lagā’ī hai
O love, due to your sacrifice, we escaped the cheap burning.
The fire that will extinguish all other fires—that is the fire that has been lit.
حرص و ہوس ِ بد سے دل تو ، بھی ستم کر لے
تو ہیں نہیں بیگانہ دنیا ہی پرائی ہے
Ḥirṣ-o-hawas-e-bad sē dil tō, bhī sitam kar lē
Tū haiñ nahīñ bēgāna dunyā hī parā’ī hai
Even the heart, out of greed, commits oppression against itself.
You are not a stranger; it is only the world that is foreign.
ہم دل جلے ہیں کس کے ہٹ فتنوں کے پرکالے
کیوں پھونک دوں اک اُف سے کیا آگ لگائی ہے
Ham dil jalē haiñ kis kē haṭ fitnōñ kē parkālē
Kyūñ phūñk dūñ ik uf sē kyā āg lagā’ī hai
We are the burnt hearts of whom? Move aside, O sparks of mischief!
Why should I blow you out with a mere sigh? What fire have I lit?
طیبہ نہ سہی افضل مکّہ ہی بڑا زاہد
ہم عشق کے بندے ہیں کیوں بات بڑھائی ہے
Ṭaybah na sahī afẓal Makkah hī baṛā zāhid
Ham ’ishq kē bandē haiñ kyūñ bāt baṛhā’ī hai
It may be that Makkah is greater than Madinah, O ascetic.
We are the slaves of love; why prolong this argument?
مطلع میں یہ شک کیا تھا واللہ رضا واللہ
صرف اُن کی رسائی ہے صرف اُن کی رسائی ہے
Maṭla’ mēñ yeh shak kyā thā Wallah Razā Wallah
Ṣirf un kī rasā’ī hai ṣirf un kī rasā’ī hai
