“Maslak Hi Wahan Faqr-o-Ghana Hota Hai” is an insightful Rubai by Pir Naseer ud Din Naseer. In these verses, the poet describes the spiritual state within the “Maikhana” (the tavern of divine love), where worldly status vanishes and the soul finds true enrichment through detachment. Below are the lyrics in Urdu, Roman Urdu, and English translation.
مسلک ہی وہاں فقرو غنا ہوتا ہے
میخانے میں شاہ ، ہر گدا ہوتا ہے
Maslak Hi Wahan Faqr-o-Ghana Hota Hai
Maikhane Mein Shah, Har Gada Hota Hai
In that place, the path itself is one of spiritual poverty and self-sufficiency,
In the tavern of love, every beggar becomes a king.
رہتی نہیں میخوار کو دنیا کی ہوس
مے ہوتی ہے مے کا مزہ ہوتا ہے
Rehti Nahi Maikhwar Ko Duniya Ki Hawas
May Hoti Hai May Ka Mazza Hota Hai
The seeker no longer harbors any greed for the world,
There is only the wine of devotion and the sheer bliss it brings.
